The Penny Drop, the Melbourne, Australian based café concept has secured their first London site through leisure property specialists Charles Benjamin Associates.
A former arts & craft shop situated on the corner of Tottenham Street and Whitfield Street in Fitzrovia will be arranged over ground floor and basement levels with additional seating at the front spanning over a total area of 860 SqF.
The site was acquired by way of a leasehold assignment with the building being owned by Pearl & Coutts.
The Penny Drop is due to launch mid-summer 2017.
Taylor Gershon, Leisure Property Consultant, Charles Benjamin Associates, said, “We are finding many clients, both new and established operators, looking to secure premises in various Fitzrovia locations. We believe a surge in such behaviour is primarily due to what are perceived as extortionate rents within other high profile Central London village locations. This combined with an abundance of vastly re-developed and soon to be developed schemes taking place make the area an extremely attractive proposition.”
Serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, The Penny Drop’s modern Australian menu offers a range of exciting dishes such as breakfast classics through to unique share plates with an Asian-inspired twist. The space effortlessly combines high ceilings and muted earthy tones to create a warm and inviting oasis.
The Penny Drop in Melbourne has been featured in some of Melbourne’s most loved publications and looks to replicate the same within London.
Charles Benjamin Associates acted for the in-going tenant, trading as The Penny Drop.
